Hot Bay By The Canal
Vienna, 2022
The artwork was influenced by life near the canal, along its embankment, where the artist passed by every day. Observing the diverse life, how people utilized the canals and the surroundings led to the creation of an authentic depiction, capturing the essence of someone sunbathing, derived from these encounters.
The person sunbathing on the Hot Bay By The Canal—an industrial version of relaxation—attempting to create or find a sense of repose, akin to relaxation by the sea or elsewhere, right here under his windows, on the asphalt, amidst concrete structures, amid constructions. This work is about claiming of a space within the city.
